Colbi's Memories.

This trip was by far my favorite trip that I have ever experienced; It taught me a whole lot of things and made me closer with many people that I rarely ever talked to. It was a learning experience for me and a life changing one.

This trip started out when we went to the airport, I can remember it so clearly because I was scared out of my mind to get onto that plane and fly away. We got out of the car and I drug my suitcase in and held my carry-on close to my body. I was shaking but I was oh so very excited.

When we got into the airport I finally got the message, I would be on a plane with at least 15 other kids from my class, and only a couple teachers. Finally, I was scared. I got in line to check my bag and I waited for a while with my mom, I got up to the desk and they asked for my ID, I gave it to the lady and she gave it right back while Mr. Escamilla checked my name off of his list. I felt naked without my bag, I felt like I was forgetting something.

Me and my mom walked back over by my dad and brother and we kind of started to say our good byes but we weren't up to security yet. Finally they called that they were ready for us over the loudspeaker and we went up the escalator. We stood in a big group: the other kids that will be on my plane, our parents, and three teachers (Mr. Escamilla, Mrs. Rinewald, and Mrs. Peters). Mrs. Rinewald was handing out our tickets in alpha-order; finally, my name was called. I was scared because I had to leave my parents for four days. I almost started to cry but I held back my tears, I looked around and saw all of my other class mates in the same boat that I was in, I hugged my parents, and brother, grabbed my ticket, and got in line. I waved good bye to my family, and they left. I felt alone.

I took my shoes off and threw my things into a tote tray, I put them through the bag checker thingy/x-ray machine, and walked through the metal detector. I made it through without it beeping, thank the Lord. When we made it into the waiting area for the plane, I sat down with my friends Morgan, Breann, Samie, and Madi, we just sat and talked and took pictures and waited until 10:55 when our plane would be leaving.

They finally called us in to get onto the plane, and we were checking with our friends where they would be sitting and trying to swap tickets to get seats by them. When I got on the plane it was very scary to just sit here waiting for it to take off, I sat by this girl named Astrid; she was very helpful when it came to me freaking out.

Day 3

Colbi said she is going to the memorials today. She said that they wouldn't like them take their phones into the capitol or the library. First is the reflecting pool, then she missed the memorial and then her and Sam. Then after the book is the Jefferson Memorial.

Day 1

Colbi is supposed to send pics via her phone while she is on her trip to Washington D.C. I thought it would be fun to post them here for all to enjoy. First one of her and breann and then of the airport in Baltimore and then on the bus with breann. It took them awhile to get to the hotel on the bus (driver got lost) but they made it at 6:40 or so central time. She finally got to eat and then do some stuff in the group room.
